I miss the days when people often did covers of their favorite songs. Sure, we all still do but a convo with a friend the other day reminded me of how much that's almost disappeared online.

I'm still a firm believer that when the government shuts down, no one should pay taxes.

This is not an opening to retort with /why/ we need taxes. The point is taxes in the USA and increases on things like public transit don't go to support the people like it should.

Every time I post here I wonder what imbecile with a lack of reading comprehension is going to start an argument or a barely thought out think piece. After a while it's just amusing.

Reading historical documents and understanding WHY they're the way the are, asking questions, forming your own opinion on what you read, on what you listen to, and what your local politicians say are critical skills we cannot afford to give up or not care about.
