I’m sure it feels like harmless fun to some VAs to indulge in that aspect of things, but there are fans that take that stuff extremely seriously and they’ll use it as “evidence” against others

There's one point in the movie where they reintroduce the group's mentally handicapped childhood friend at his adult age and it's a very one note performance and I was thinking to myself "oh dear it's a good thing nobody knows who this actor is or he'd be embarrassed"

A very entertaining mess of a movie with a stellar cast, appreciated that it indulged in a lot of Stephen King's eccentricities that get lost in a lot of other adaptations.

That was my first time becoming genuinely aware that some voice actors - a lot of them actually - present themselves a certain way because fans respond to it, while being markedly different behind closed doors. Sometimes the exact opposite.

Enjoy the persona. Don’t idolize it. It’s often a facade.

I remember thinking that must be so sad, attaching yourself to another person and playing to much younger fans that want to see you make out with one another.

Not to mention realizing in Vic’s case he was leaning into the whole gay ship area while objecting to the concept of homosexuality.

When I first started doing conventions I noticed Vic Mignogna and Todd Haberkorn would make content/interact in a way that intentionally encouraged fans to ship them

When I said “oh they must be having fun” I learned from actors “no they hate each other, they just see a business opportunity here.”
