The text reads: “guilt response” started initially as several left-over scraps from this house’s workstation that I decided to stitch together in my spare time. These scraps had a strangely alluring pull to me, similar to when I found this home. They were short but pleasant snippets of audio that I could’ve sworn I could previously recall the inner workings of, so it was only natural psychological forces that took over to finish the track in only a couple of weeks overall. It’s hard to explain the specific details but whenever I hit play on each snippet I could envision a time, invigorate an emotion, or capture the scent of a place. It sounds confusing to write the words out loud but it was like I wasn’t just using my imagination for these. It felt real, tangible. I’m still trying to understand the reasoning behind the familiarity of these tracks and the strange hold they have on my mind, so I will keep you updated within due time. It sounds daft in retrospect considering I couldn’t even recognize the face of the body that day due to natural decomposition, but I’m truly convinced this can help me. I’m working on something big and honestly I don’t even really know if I can do it, but I just have to witness the end of it. I can’t let this go considering how much I’ve spent on it overall. It’s the only lead I have right now since I fell so long ago.
