Because I want him (and Gale and Shart and Minthara) to be all evil but kind of enjoying being evil in a world with people in it still. Which is kind of what I did with my previous non-Durge evil playthrough, but less successfully on the "everyone is evil" front.

Still not entirely sure how I'm going to play the endgame for Barnabas though. I'll likely play a couple of scenarios but I'm not sure if I'm locked into rejecting Baal if I don't want to have the "Barnabas kills literally everything" ending.

Also turns out you get way better loot by being (mostly good) than by being completely evil. Not that Barnabas isn't killing almost everyone and looting their corpses, of course.

...Barnabas is going to kill Isabelle which means no Jaheira, Halsin (because the curse won't be lifted) or Minsc and Karlach is long dead. Astarion, Shart ans Minthara should all be fine but I've got to avoid pissing off Lae'zell or Wyll too much during Act 2.

The thing that's proving the hardest with a BG3 evil Durge playthrough is actually keeping all the companions i want into Act 3 alive. Barnabas is going to romance Gale (so he can be a good and be mean to Raphael) but that means he'll have to resist killing him in the near future...

Requiem For A Dream. Absolutely incredible film, never want to watch ot again thank you very much.

There is that distinct possibility, yes

Yeah, that was definitely the point she spiralled from being amusing but problematic to just being a twat

I got halfway through the article before rage quitting. The parallels she draws and the deliberate misinterpretation is breathtakingly transparent. The argument that we should question politicians and hold them to high standards is true, but that doesn't mean villainising them either.

I know she's all over the news for various reasons, but can we try and remember that Jess Glynne has thrown in fully with the TERFs and needs to be held account for that?

Also clear photo evidence of why you need lint rollers in every room of the house when you mostly wear black and have cats with white fur.

For a cat who last week barely even thought about sitting on anyone's knee Gus has proven to be a quick learner

They are. Really easy to make too, just make sure the butter is good and soft and then it's really just a case of mixing the ingredients together

I mean, at least salted caramel is actually good.

Absolutely love these. They also (just about) work with gluten-free flour, although you do have to slightly increase the amount of flour to prevent them being too soft to bake in the first place

I did consider posting Joy (partially because it's the one song on the album with a video) but Tinsel And Lights won out in the end.

Another song without a video today. The whole Tinsel And Lights has a kind of mellow melancholy that you'd expect from Tracey Thorn but is also undeniably hugely Christmassy and beautiful. Her version of Hard Candy Christmas is also stunning.

Important context for anyone being horrified by the "Ardman embrace AI" headlines that ignores what they *actually* said

It's a story that I think once it's done that's kind of it. Yes the ghost can keep doing the same thing but there's no mystery there anymore so it's not scary, but if it's a whole new ghost then it's not the same story so pointless as a sequel

Don't think I've seen the sequel, no. Not read the book version either (although i know that wasn't written by Hill either so I'm not sure if it's just a tie-in to the film or not)

Disappointingly few of Cher's Christmas songs have actual videos (I may still post an audio only Angels In The Snow down the line) but you can't go wrong with Cher *and* Darlene Love

It sounds like the dubbing or the mixing is weirdly off. But it's so common in Doctor Who that it must be a stylistic choice.

God that TV movie is brilliant too. The Daniel Radcliffe film is a bit silly, but i don't dislike it. But I think i even saw that before I read the book, so in a very weird position of seeing three fairly different versions of the same story before reading the book they're all based on.

Interested to see what you think of this, especially if you've seen the stage version.

I love Doctor Who and the world the programme has created so i try and give it all a chance and understand the nature of the beast means some stories will be great and some will suck (and most will be somewhere inbetween) but RTD spends so long trying to be clever he often forgets to write stories.

07.12.2025 21:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Well, don't think I'm going to bother with the rest of The War Between etc etc. Usual terrible "comedy" and painful banter, plot points that are either stupid or actively nonsense and something very weird about how Tovey is playing the role.
