We live in a world without fixed physical borders. All talk of “precision” bombing is nonsense. Not only are innocent civilians the inevitable victims of flinging missiles into city centres but the pollution caused is massive and will poison generations to come

You can find these little book exchange free libraries in most towns in #France.
They’re great, both for passing on to others books I’ve read but don’t want to hold onto, and for finding books I didn’t know I was looking for! #bookexchange #books #reading #photography

Part of my garden is pretty wild, and I love that. There are enough trees there to create the atmosphere of a little forest, I’ve made a few rough paths between them.
And these old iron pieces are the remains of a wine press, discarded decades ago when this was a working farm #CharenteMaritime

Aren’t they simply amazing? And so mesmerising to actually watch them morphing into their different shapes right before your eyes. What a treat!

I was going to say “how cool!” but realised that’s kind of obvious when you’re looking at a glacier! However, it’s a fabulous photo. Brilliant what drone views open up for us

Flowing over a weir. The contrast between the still water above and the fast moving water over the weir is beautiful. #flow #flowing #water #nature #photography

“La Guerre” (War) by André Marchand showing a mother and child standing amongst the destruction of their town.
Again we are witnessing the apparent blood thirst of world leaders who relish nothing more than bombing urban areas, destroying homes, shops, hospitals and schools, and killing by the thousands.
Violence breeds violence.
Did anyone ever make a country a better place by assassinations, murder and slaughter?
The World Order, weak as it was, an attempt to reach ethical agreements to create International Law…..has been blown out of the water.
Maybe art, like this one, and like “Guernica”, can reach us and stir us to stand up and say “Not in my name"

Last year at this time I visited the Musée Estrine in Saint Remy de Provence and saw an exhibition of the work of André Marchand, including this one, entitled “La Guerre” (War). I found it profoundly moving and it seems even more relevant today. (see more in “ALT”)
