Trump Just Made the World Much More Dangerous By waging war on Iran, the president is making it more likely that other countries will develop nuclear weaponsโ€”to protect themselves from the U.S.

Grateful to @newrepublic.com who asked for my immediate thoughts in Trumpโ€™s attack on Iran.

In short, the demand for nuclear weapons is about to go way up. If you do not have nuclear weapons, you are vulnerable.

I'm old enough to remember when we already had an Iran nuclear deal that was working perfectly fine, and Trump cancelled it for no reason, other than the fact that Obama had made it.

I constantly hear people banging on about how bad almond milk is for the environment, but somehow I never hear anyone mention how dairy milk is many times worse for the environment across every possible metric

Students feel like they canโ€™t enroll in majors like Af-Am Studies and WGSS because theyโ€™re getting messages from all sides that theyโ€™re not remunerative. And yet they desperately want the knowledge, so classes are full. That seems to be the situation everywhere.

I ran the numbers in my newsletter two weeks ago. The $100 mill the Post lost in 2024 was equal to about two days of the increase in his net worth since he bought the paper.

This. Today's ruling is primarily a multidimensional failure of the judicial branch, not really its robustness in the face of authoritarianism. This should never have been a SCOTUS case in the first place, & it shouldn't have taken over a year to get here.

Scientists thought they understood global warming. Then the past three years happened. The fastest warming period since 1880 occurred in the past 30 years, according to a Washington Post analysis of NASA data.

Good thing the Washington Post has just gutted its climate desk.

Global warming has suddenly accelerated, and scientists don't fully understand why.

But it's almost certainly some kind of feedback loop.

Trump's Caribbean Surge Nears $3 Billion Price Tag So Far The operations around Venezuela that eventually led to the capture of its president pulled in nearly a fifth of the US Navyโ€™s surface fleet at a cost of more than $20 million a day.

Bloomberg says we've spent $3B on Trump's invasion of Venezuela.

Which is 6X more than the cancer, Alzheimer, diabetes, and heart disease cures they've cut to pay for it.

Exhausted and dehydrated, I slowly walk the last few steps. โ€œThis has to be it,โ€ I think to myself. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and turn the handle, whispering a little prayer as I step through. I open my eyes and the last trickle of hope leaks away. I am still in IKEA.
