The amount of times this has happened at 38th St station to me is kind of unreal
Vetaw
Hiawatha LRT is completely unplowed this morning between 38th St and 46th St
I usually don’t post reports without someone riding on it first, but I figured just after a snowfall this would be helpful for some people. Be careful out there!

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.
Just fuck you. Fuck you all.
I can't remember the last time I was this angry.
Hey this is the exact same bus stop I got off at today! Truly a sad experience
I had to climb over a large snow bank at American Blvd & Bryant Ave which was lovely. Followed by an unplowed sidewalk in front of Caliber Collision.
Thanks! And I agree. I often find that outside of Minneapolis it can be hard to report plowing issues, so I was planning on finding some of those resources and putting them on the website.
I think that’s a good idea. What do you think the threshold of snowfall should be? 2 inches? That’s what the MPRB uses to define a “snow event.”
Right now, the comments are just observations I’ve personally made. But if you want to contribute, send an email to the address on the website. Thank you!!
Attention twin cities winter cyclists! I am working on a repository of reports for bike trails in the area. Right now it’s pretty basic - just email me and I’ll update the website and embedded map. Give me your thoughts, I hope this can be useful! mspwintercycle.github.io

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.
I had an interesting experience doorknocking on Sunday (for Katie Cashman) where I asked an older guy who he was supporting. He said “I’d like to keep that secret….but don’t worry!” We both laughed and I left. Hopefully he’s voting for Cashman!
What tool is this you’re using for on time and late? Or is this from a report of some kind?
The worst part about this is WE ALREADY DID THIS IN THE 90s with Andrew Wakefield, the “vaccines cause autism” guy. He went on TV repeatedly saying the MMR should be separate, and later on it came out he was trying to patent his own vaccine, making money off a scare he created. Disgusting.
This is awesome to hear! Does that mean the Univeristy Ave bikeway is open now? I gotta check that out
I rode on it last Wednesday fully from downtown to Hidden Falls. It was at night so there were no workers. There were signs (that people have moved) to say “trail work” but you can ride on it, and I saw others doing the same
Joel, what are your thoughts on the scrapyard wars finale? I don’t know if you’re a Linus fan or not
Yes, you can! The Sam Morgan trail is open from Hidden Falls to downtown (the trail next to Shepard Road), but it is closed once you get to Union Depot. Source I biked it on Wednesday.
Streetlight Manifesto live was a religious experience
Dang, free food at each event? But is it worth it to listen to park board politics for two hours….
After reading that thread, I donated to Molly’s campaign. In my opinion, pretty non-committal answers for such a hot button issue. A trail like this would be transformational for St. Paul.
Someone watching TikTok on the bus or light rail at full volume is just so not cool
At Union Depot Train Days last year they hosted a public comment session there, and a few more around other parts of the state (Duluth, Mankato, and others I think?) talk.dot.state.mn.us/state-rail-p... this link seems to indicate more public comment will be accepted once the draft is complete.
The first SMN video about Peterson is one of the app time greats. They make great videos
Hey Bill - the caption under the first photo in the article says Red Line instead of B Line. Good article though!
I’ve been there. When I went there were a lot of security lines so I got through pretty quick. We stood near the back and there were some structures blocking the view. I’d say an hour before would be good? When leaving, however, the one road out was blocked by a freight train for over an hour.
he wants me
Apparently NexusMods has a Linux app now. Not sure how it interacts with windows only games (like fallout new vegas, one game I wanna play) that run through proton, but I am willing to try it
