But one certainty is that the type of intelligence computers will acquire will depend on where there's money to be made. Martin said that within 10 years there may be a computer that can play chess better than the present world champion "but nobody's really working on it very seriously."

My super smart and cool friends are presenting this livestream about our new focal model for coding. They're both deep experts in AI, and this is sure to be a very interesting conversation about the future of LLMs and open source access to models.

Amazing article - thank you for sharing!

From a data science/ML perspective, I feel like so much of the discussion is dominated by genAI that there is also not enough space for open source work in this area to get a platform right now.

Is AI Leaving the Python Community Behind? Georgi’s Official Website

πŸŒβœ¨β€―EuroPython just ended.
In many hallway chats and community organisers open space, one issue came up again and again: Sponsorship.
Now that AI is taking the spotlight, I’m asking: Who's left behind?

The PSF board election: what do I need to know? As the PSF board election approaches, I am sure many of you are keen to get involved. It is a special chance for those of us who have been in the community for a while, and who love it, to help it be better. However, do you know what the Python Software Foundation, and particularly the PSF board members do? Have you ever wondered whether you should run for the board?

#Python #community How well do you know about the work of @thepsf.bsky.social? Have you ever think of running for the board election? Maybe you wanna check out the answers of some of the questions you have here:

Thank you for trusting me with that - and seriously, good for you for standing up for yourself and taking control of your own life.
That takes real strength, and even more courage.
