If you watched my keynote (www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5s_...) on the history of AI and enjoyed it, I can only recommend this wonderful video about LISP machines from Asianometry. I sourced most of my information about the second AI summer from it.

Keynote: AI is having its moment ... again - Jodie Burchell - NDC Copenhagen 2025
YouTube video by NDC Conferences Keynote: AI is having its moment ... again - Jodie Burchell - NDC Copenhagen 2025

Noticed the shift in AI coverage lately? The hype’s fading, replaced by quiet worry about a bubble.

But we've seen this before ... twice. In my @ndcconferences.com keynote, I explore what past AI hype cycles reveal about today’s boom.

It might be faster if you turn off the "think more" option (which you might already have tried), or adding files to your .aiignore file to limit how much Junie is trying to process: www.jetbrains.com/help/junie/a...

But one certainty is that the type of intelligence computers will acquire will depend on where there's money to be made. Martin said that within 10 years there may be a computer that can play chess better than the present world champion "but nobody's really working on it very seriously."

Predictions about AI from 1958 versus 1984 (at least the 1984 one ended up being close to true).

Amazing article - thank you for sharing!

From a data science/ML perspective, I feel like so much of the discussion is dominated by genAI that there is also not enough space for open source work in this area to get a platform right now.
