20 years ago today, I intercepted my 7th hurricane eye as Rita made landfall near Port Arthur, TX. Led by Joshua Wurman & @kakosiba.bsky.social, I parked on a bridge to stay above the surge and mapped the intense winds: doi.org/10.1175/MWR-...
