That guy needs to read Samuel Johnson's preface to the dictionary.

A table with a blue tablecloth and a placemat and a cup of tea in a little bird Cup on a saucer. Next to the cup, on top of the placemat, are two books. One of them is called the fall of Iris Henley. It has a dark cover with cheerleading pom poms and white text in a font like you see on Varsity Letterman jackets. The other book is called backyard Alchemy by yours truly. It has a dark cover with a rusty sardine can, lid rolled back.

Ah, @katyred.bsky.social sent this photo today. How amazing to be on your best friend's dining table with one of your other best friends, the amazing @jgriffingraham.bsky.social! Katy's weekend is sorted! @riverriverbooks.bsky.social

The cover of Lori Weidenhammer’s book “Victory Gardens for Bees.”

Squeeee’s for the Bees 😂 🐝🌱 I’m excited to dive into this. Lori is one of the most unyielding champions for native bees around today and her revised book is now available in the US. Get your copy and see what the buzz is all about! ☺️🙏🏼

A book lying on dead leaves. Cover shows a beautifully lit and composed rusted tin with the key still hanging off the open lid. BACKYARD ALCHEMY by JD Ho.

I was too busy to take a pic last week, but gosh what a gorgeous book this is.

JD’s going to be at #AWP, and if you are there too you should to listen to them read!

A little orange cat lying on the center console of a car. Next to him is the emergency brake and the stick shift. He is also lying on a bag full of car snacks

Driving to AWP today without my co-pilot. I know this is not the role cats usually fill, but he is the weirdest cat I've ever known.

A copy of the book photographed on a wooden floor. The cover of Backyard Alchemy features an old salvaged tin with a rollback lid. For herring? Let’s say herring.

Friendos at AWP and friendos not at AWP, do not miss this book by @nematode.bsky.social ! Just got my blurber copy in the mail yesterday and it’s a beaut!

This is a wonderfully nuanced interview! I had insomnia this morning, so I gave it a listen and it did NOT put me back to sleep!!!

The Cover of the Revised Edition of Victory Gardens for Bees with a Bumble bee on a red pincushion flower.

Gung hay fat choy! Happy Year of the Fire Horse, which happens to be my sign. (So now you know how old I am!) Today my book launches in U. S. bookstores, so I feel it's and especially auspicious occasion! #victorygardensforbees #bees

I've been writing my new book for about 6 months, and only now is it finally feeling like an actual book with everything connecting up. It is very satisfying.

A surface of brown leaves with fresh green leaves and a little flower stalk poking out. The flower is a deep pink. The sky and a house are blurry in the background A brown, leaf covered lawn. Sticking out are a bunch of green leaves and a lone flower with a yellow bud

The interesting (and new to me) challenge of creating two versions of an essay: one that can stand alone and be submitted to magazines and another that is woven with other essays so that it can be a chapter of a cohesive book.
