Happy new year all! Here’s where my head is as we enter that new year.
“As we walk into 2026, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and good reason for hope. But we’re going to have to walk through a dark tunnel to get there.”
I had a truly wonderful conversation with @mburkephd.bsky.social about their book. We talked about everything from Beauvoir, to how anti-trans twist feminism for their own ends, to an ethics of affirming gendered existence. When the world is chaos, this philosophy helped me feel grounded.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracey fought for trans rights and prison reform and came out of retirement to fight back against an increase in anti-trans legislation.
Readers are happier than non-readers — for all we joke about ignorance being bliss, and for all keenly developed empathy will result in some very justified outrage, life is enriched by experiencing the literary arts.
Whether it's Gays Against Groomers, the Women's Liberation Front, or the LGB Alliance, there are LGB groups so desperate to hurt trans people that they are trading in their own protections to do it.

I really thought I was beyond being surprised by the hateful nonsense this man will get up to.
If you've just tested out life without the Disney+ subscription, there's some good reasons to consider keeping things that way. Bringing Kimmel back doesn't atone for what they've done.

This was never about Charlie Kirk, it was about finding an excuse to do what Trump and his team already had planned.

“Whatever the Republican Party once stood for, it is no more. A lot of the blame for that can be laid at Trump’s door, but he was really just the final nail in the coffin. At some point, they became far more obsessed with just holding power rather than with doing anything constructive with it.”
