I'm making a tool to help you make games like Paradox does, or like Maxis did, back in the day.

OK now that the bugs have been fixed (pls pls inshallah sorry about that), I can finally yell about the Spirit Swap update again! It’s a visual novel with match-3 elements and we made it to be the drop of sunshine we (QT/POC) needed during the past few years! Please check it outπŸŽ‰

It didn't work on you, because, by your account, you're "stupid"

though, actually, I still suspect you're hiding from something

but, well, I guess I'll never know what. Them's the breaks

What you characterize as "reactionary yelling" was an effort to get trans service members to raise their moral standards. It seemed like an opportune moment, since they've just learned the hard way that the empire didn't really value their loyalty.

And I still think it was worth a shot!

Nah, I was trying to get you to admit to being a bad person because of these posts here, where I jumped in. You're the one who started from the position that every possible job done in service of empire is morally equivalent, and people who say shit like that tend to have dirty consciences.

That you *didn't* lead with that makes me think you're trying not to think about what some of your comrades in arms did...

10.08.2025 02:11 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel that my assumptions were a pretty natural reaction to the way you framed your choice to enlist. If you actually took steps to make sure that you wouldn't be a direct accessory to murder, you should lead with that. bsky.app/profile/zeon...

Yeah, what I'm doing is called "witnessing" by church types

I'm not religious, and I think it's terrible that the concept is considered the domain of religion in much of America

We can't very well do without it, though. Got to set moral standards somehow.

Indeed, that's what a bunch of schools did when lockdowns happened. We should have just kept doing it!

MOOCs, like a lot of colleges already offer. Same course material, delivered through phones rather than in person. Separating bullies from their victims is hard and unrewarding in person, but if you can do it by flipping a switch, it's easy and effective.

Put a shoebox up there. That box is now her desk.

Space intel means you were looking at the satellite photos that were used to target drone strikes and stuff, right?

10.08.2025 01:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This should weigh upon you. You should seek redemption.

If you don't, you're a bad person.

10.08.2025 01:13 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Ok, then the following will not have any effect on you at all:

You knew there was a significant possibility that you'd be assigned to infantry, and may in fact have been in a support role close enough that you can tell exactly how your actions enabled specific imperial murders

10.08.2025 01:13 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Working for the military *directly* is over a line for a lot of people.

I think that's a good thing.

You're trying not to think about where your own lines are, because you might find that you've crossed red ones.

10.08.2025 00:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The nature of the military-industrial complex does make it tricky to judge others for what they've done to feed their families. Personally, I don't judge people for working for Microsoft, for instance.

But you've still got to have lines you won't cross, or you have no conscience.

10.08.2025 00:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Likewise, I do not associate with people who've pulled the trigger to kill brown people in service of empire.

Is working for Lockheed-Martin less bad than that? Yeah, maybe, but not *enough* less for a lot of people.

10.08.2025 00:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Another part is to have lines I won't cross. At the moment, that means I don't play Microsoft-published games, for instance, because @bdsmovement.bsky.social has designated Microsoft's gaming division a priority target.

10.08.2025 00:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's really very likely that *none* of my actions will make much of an impact in the world, but I choose to act like they just might. That's part of what it means to have a conscience.

10.08.2025 00:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

No, it's evidence for lack of principles. Please don't be ableist?

09.08.2025 15:27 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Eh there were a fair number of generally well informed people who initially took this same position in defense of that one Lockheed-Martin employee and took some time to come around. It's a bad argument, but it's being made out of solidarity, which is good, so, I try to be patient

09.08.2025 15:25 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

"All work is somehow implicated in the military-industrial complex, therefore every employer is equally bad, and you can't judge anyone for working for the military a whole lot more directly than you do"

hm, if you're going for sort of an impressionistic recreation, starting the party with bins of agèd computer parts on the table and inviting your guests to assemble their rigs... does sound like fun

the thing to take from Cuomoβ€”a politician who was supposedly invulnerable and had control of every aspect of Albanyβ€”having a flailing campaign is that all of these assholes are really paper tigers who only thrive when their opponents are also cowards.

circled A is an anarchist symbol. I think that's unlikely to be related to Alethia, it's not surprising for a trans person to be an anarchist, even if jheya's not very good at it

Want to play: some analogue to Lara Croft GO, where you're simply trying to move her across the map and dodge obstacles and that's what the game's about, but now you're in Aperture Science or the like, and the turn based nature lets them break physics in ways that were too tricky for normal Portal

Real adults take the correct positions on everything, care about nothing, and follow instructions.

Oh, we were supposed to be paying attention, all right

And we were supposed to notice the fundamental duplicity of imparting those lessons in the same room of the same building where we were taught to demonstrate "curiosity" and "interest" by eagerly regurgitating facts

And be like *that*

Very easy slam dunk issue for Dems that will be ignored because their consultants are scared of trans athlete polling.
