I always heard the theory that Rare wanted to get away from Nintendo because of the creative control they had. Although, getting to actually interact with former Rare developers over the past few years, that doesn't seem likely anymore.

I agree with @bigtimegoat.bsky.social. That sounds like drive failure to me. It's possible it could just be a corrupted operating system. But either way it goes, it's going to require reimaging the system.

Cause we need to just stick with standard or daylight time and just be done with this changing the clocks thing.

I was going to wait until Friday to post this, but I just kinda want to show this off now.

One of the original towers is down the street from where I live. The microwave antennas have been removed, though. It now serves as a cell tower.

Yeah, that's the other thing. I have to constantly remind myself in those situations that what I just experienced was not real.

Then I may try and listen to some kind of white noise or soothing music to try and drown out whatever thoughts are keeping me up.

I mean. There are times where I stress dream and end up waking up in a panic. I usually have to remind myself that I'm literally in bed trying to sleep. And that panicking isn't going to resolve whatever problem I'm fixated on at the moment.

I was told this is how it would feel when I went to retrieve stuff from my totaled car. I can't say I felt quite as emotional, though. Still, it's a rough experience.

Rates on advice to fix computer problems? I typically don't charge for any of that.

If you wanted to send me the computer to get it fixed, that would be a whole different situation. But I'd work that out depending on what needs to be done.

Been a while since I've been able to get a drawing put together. I've dealing with the Windows 10 end-of-life coming up on October 14th. It's involved a lot of work and some recent travel. So my energy has been a bit low as of late. I've requested some much needed PTO for next month.

Surprisingly this doesn't actually mean the complete end of dial-up Internet service entirely. However, with the recent advancements in 4GLTE and 5G mobile data, and the discontinuation of POTS lines, it will only be a matter of time before Data/Fax Modems become unusable.

After 34 years, AOL has officially shut down their dial-up Internet service.
