Update with several other layered effects, so we've now got jogging, aiming, dashing, freefall, arms, headlook, dynamics, etc.

It's not "one big idea" but several details, so I'll try and break them down in a thread piece-by-piece.

The Linux on the desktop test is you measure how long a regular person can interact with the OS and get normal tasks done before being forced to interact with a command line

This seems outrageously cruel.

And just a handful of months before these folks would have been set to enjoy the release of one of the biggest games of their careers too.

The imbalance of power in the games industry remains utterly fucked.

Love this little animation of Shu pinching himself in Silent Hill F. The pulled corner of his mouth, the way his skin bounces back. Just a fun little well-observed moment.

digital portrait of myself done without much refinement or care for the details. Drawn bust up, I'm a white woman with a calm but weary smile and long, straight red hair that dissipates into wavy curls near the bottom.

it's turtleneck season so here's a somewhat low effort self portrait to commemorate it

Because I want my work to be available to everyone, it's offered on itchio as a pay-what-you-want download with a suggested donation of $19.99. Includes both PDF and EPUB for use with your preferred e-reader.

All profits go to my local fighting game community organizing work.

This message is from me, Jimbo Wales, founder of Wikipedia.
I believe that Wikipedia is at its best when we can have reasonable discussion rooted in a commitment to write articles that reflect a neutral point of view. I believe that's especially important on highly difficult or contentious topics.

I was asked point-blank in a high profile media interview about this article, and I answered with transparency and honesty: this article fails to meet our high standards and needs immediate attention.

As many of you will know, I have been leading an NPOV working group and studying the issue of neutrality in Wikipedia across many articles and topic areas including “Zionism”. While this article is a particularly egregious example, there is much more work to do. It should go without saying that I am writing this in my personal capacity, and I am not speaking on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation or anyone else!

I assume good faith of everyone who has worked on this Gaza “genocide” article. At present, the lede and the overall presentation state, in Wikipedia’s voice, that Israel is committing genocide, although that claim is highly contested. This is a violation of WP:NPOV and WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV that requires immediate correction. Remember: "This policy is non-negotiable, and the principles upon which it is based cannot be superseded by other policies or guidelines, nor by editor consensus."

A neutral approach would begin with a formulation such as: “Multiple governments, NGOs, and legal bodies have described or rejected the characterization of Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.”

What I’m asking for
Be bold and start editing (WP:BOLD). Move from debate to concrete improvements immediately.

Assume good faith (WP:AGF). Avoid personalizing disagreements. Focus only on text and sources.

Attribute, don’t assert (WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV). The lead and body must not declare a legal conclusion. Present who says what, with attribution and dates.

Balance by due weight (WP:UNDUE). Include significant, high-quality sources from all sides—governments, courts, NGOs, commentators. No side should speak in Wikipedia’s own voice.

Use the best sources (WP:RS / WP:V). Prefer primary official statements and major secondary coverage. Avoid synthesis (WP:SYN / WP:NOR).

Clarify scope. Separate factual reporting on conduct and casualties from legal characterization. Editors with strong, policy-compliant sources who have felt sidelined are welcome. Your participation is needed now. Editors are reminded this article falls under the Arab–Israeli conflict topic area; all participation must comply with the corresponding editing restrictions and civility expectations.

By focusing on verifiable sources and neutrality, we can quickly deliver an article that meets our standards for contentious topics. — Jimbo Wales Jimbo Wales (talk) 16:03, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia founder Jimbo Wales is trying to use his name to convince Wikipedia editors to deny the Gaza Genocide, recognized by many human rights organizations.

Although he's not seizing control, this is an extreme attempt to sway Wikipedia content in violation of its founding principles.

Proposal
edit
I would like to propose and give the place to the Wikimedia community to discuss about possible founder rights removal. These rights were given to Jimmy Wales (was there any election?), the founder of Wikipedia, to act on Wikipedia as a steward forever. Unfortunately other communities (other than Wikipedia), were not informed about this fact, but Jimmy Wales behaves there like an elephant in china shop. He doesn't respect any ethical rules applied until this time by other stewards and simply disrupted and discredited Wikiversity. And I am afraid that other projects might be possibly injured in the future, as this was not for the first time Jimbo did it (in beginning of fall 2008 he came to English Wikiversity (at those times elected as a steward) and disrupted the project, which led to the exodus of people outside).

I would say, that such charismatic person as Jimmy Wales would not saw phrases such as „I am currently discussing the closure of Wikiversity with the board.“ (source: [1]) That is what discredits Wikiversity as a project. I think such smart guy as Jimmy Wales is, can't say such a phrase even in the case WMF would discuss about the possibility of closing the project!

The other problem blocking users (even administrators, who haven't been noticed as a "danger" by community), desysopsing administrators and deleting pages without a further discussion and based on a "simple" call on his Wikipedia discussion page leads to the exodus of people from the project. People who believed in community decision making are gone and may never come back. They can't swallow the fact, that community decision making is changed to centralized dictatorship from day to day, by the Wikimedia movement founder, the symbol of free thinking.

So let me open this evaluation. During the last 2 years Mr. Jimmy Wales showed he is not able to use the rights, which community (or someone ?) gave to his hands. For further reading about the current problem you can visit these …

fun fact: Wikipedians have hated this guy for decades. In 2010, he has many of his founder privileges stripped after users accused him of being an "elephant in a china shop" and abusing his power. Good thing he lost those privileges!

one-page comic, black and white and grayscale
panel 1 : close up of a woman's hand, wearing rings, on an old spellbook page
panel 2 : same woman's hands conjuring some black fire
panel 3 (big) : woman sitting on the floor where a pentagram is drawn, with skulls and candles, while a tiny demon with horns seems to jump out of the spellbook right on her legs, visibly very happy
the woman's wearing converse-like shoes, jeans, a tope revealing her shoulders (and a big tatto on the left one), she has a choker necklace and hair loosely tied into a messy bun

drawing of a woman entering some kind of cyber glowing bat, in a room full of old looking computers and wires and cables
there's a huge aquarium in the background with fishes and deepsea-like algae, etc.
the woman is linked to a machine by cables in her left thigh and neck, her eyes glow green and her skin too in some places
