'Dandelions,' was painted by the Danish artist Bertha Wegmann around 1910. It wasn't an arbitrary choice of a plant to paint: the dandelion was used to promote the womenโs liberation movement in Scandinavia because of its capacity for uncontrolled, strong-willed growth.

Text from Eva Zabey's feature in the Dandelion Digest: While we donโt have any time to waste and progress can sometimes seem slow, deep systems transformation doesnโt happen overnight, and I am encouraged by the increased collaboration across sectors and the breakthroughs we have seen in recent years. I am particularly inspired by the women I work with who are true forces for nature โ be they corporate leaders, policymakers, Indigenous people, youth, scientists, local nature stewards, or activists โ and of course, many I am proud to have in my team. Project Dandelion embodies their spirit and resourcefulness perfectly, and being the first featured Dandelion of 2025 is very special to me.
A nature-positive economy is a climate issue.
