6 - It's very difficult to talk about #DA and #DV because we are often in love with the person doing it to us but we have to hear these stories. We have to teach these stories and we have to hold abusers and the world accountable.

Wellings arrogance and the lack of accountability from his legal team is so chilling. These people genuinely believe they can get away with this behaviour, because often society lets them.

This is awful - but it's also a sensationalist bit of reporting that paints all abusers as 'pure evil' and allows you to look the other way. Your brother, sister or best friend could be quite happily abusing someone you know right now.

2 - The defence claimed "It's wrong to say the coercive and controlling relationship was in existence throughout", but living in fear of what an abusive partner might do or say to you next IS abuse and the monster is always hiding under the bed.

We look at moments like this on people’s feeds and think that someone must have given a golden ticket, but the truth is that we have to dream it and take action ourselves. That's why this means so much, that despite feeling so sad I still managed to send a few emails and save enough money to do it
