If I could go back in time I'd take 22 year old Rachel by the hands and say "bitch.... just give it texture."

I learned a lot about mold making and casting but it's not a part of my life I'm proud of. I was too hung up on details that didn't matter, and as a result, didn't finish a lot of projects.

So, this perfect, smooth horn is oddly healing for me.

Back in 2012 I was *obsessed* with this dream of making perfect, flawless dragon horns out of urethane. Like I spent some MONEY on casting supplies. I would see even the smallest bubbles and bumps as failure.

I got myself a spool of Varioshore. I like it a lot but I'm getting these warts and dribbles. Anyone else have this issue? I'm using my .8 nozzle and it's really dribbly. Can I fix it with retraction settings or should I just make my peace with it?

Ok i simplified the teeth a bunch and I'm a lot happier. Idk why I was making each tooth its own object. Why use many polygons when few do trick?

Also I figured out you can take a video just as easily as a screencap.

Anyway I entered the B-Hole for so long today that some of my toes went numb, and my wife forced me to put a heating blanket on them.

I'm just so happy!!! Happy that I'm finally reaching a point of understanding with modeling where I can make what's in my head become real!

My first print had the upper teeth peeking out from the lip and it looked *really* stupid.

Here is how I did the teeth on my first dragon. It was just one bar for the upper teeth, no lower teeth. I still think it looks good, but I'm trying for a more dragon-y look this time. (I'm actually using cats for reference but don't tell anyone. 🤫)

(The blue dragon's mouth line will be split, but not hinged, so the rear teeth *might* show? If they don't I'll delete them to save weight.)

UPDATE, I BEEFED IT!! Not the whole interview, but I didn't get to shoehorn in fursuits. I did talk about learning lots of things FOR fursuits but did you get to bust out the portfolio. But ultimately I think I did okay!!

-taught myself lots of different skills
-actually make things with my hands
-not afraid of being myself
-if I talk around it I sound like I'm hiding something
-Its funny and memorable

Got my IBEW interview in an hour and a half and you bet your sweet ass I'm mentioning my fursuit work at some point

Noodled around in Blender this morning and printed new versions while I was at the dentist. I'm much happier with these shapes. Before it was like, girly girl turned up eyeliner shape Now they're more makeup inspired.

Got my teeth cleaned today, and immediately refilled my gaps maple pecan granola

The vision on these is going to be really good! I'm going to tweak the eyelashes a bit but the eyes fit perfectly.

I'm feeling very proud of myself for how much I've grown as an artist and fabricator.
