Ideally these fees would come out of company profits lol but there barring violent revolution I don’t see a pathway to the ideal outcome there lol. The best we seem to be able to do is make it more expensive to make dumb choices (see cigarettes).

It’s a fee not a tax excuse me. The basic premise is to shift the financial burden of managing the trash from cities to companies. You are already paying for waste management. You’re just paying the city for it. Now you can pay companies the extra penny they’ll charge,
