It’s difficult to align the hero’s journey with horror flicks.
I’ll add to that by telling you that Buddy Cop movies tend to follow the same plots as love stories.
The way these mechanics are used in storytelling makes is definitely wild and weird!
You’d be surprised. Almost every single movie after Hitchcock’s era fits the Hero’s Journey. During his day, movies seldom had a “road back” or an “elixir” at the end.
I’ve been doing this with a couple buddies and they e choose movies every 2 weeks. Over 90% have clear “hero’s” moments.
