Nursing homes suing Youngkin, calling his budget veto 'unconstitutional' Nearly 200 nursing homes across Virginia are suing Gov. Glenn Youngkin over what they call his "unconstitutional veto" of additional Medicaid funding to help them hire nurses and aides.

"The money would pay for additional registered and licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants who care directly for nursing home residents.”

Virginia Republicans would rather get sued by nursing homes than give seniors the care they need.

Virginia drops in America's Top States for Business rankings. Federal job cuts are a big reason Virginia loses No. 1 spot in America's Top States for Business in 2025 as President Trump's federal government job cuts hit the state economy.

We’ve dropped from the top spot for business because Trump tanked our economy and Va Republicans just let it happen.

Their only policy is fealty to Trump – even if that means Virginians lose their jobs, families suffer, and our economy takes the hit.

House clerk blocks three Youngkin vetoes of budget items House Clerk Paul Nardo rejected the three vetoes on procedural grounds, saying Gov. Glenn Youngkin attempted to veto the provision without also vetoing the budget appropriation that contained it.

Now, the Governor (lame duck) is doing the same thing here in Virginia that Republicans are doing in Washington, DC-ignoring the law, shutting down nursing homes in rural communities and denying needed medications funded by Medicaid.
