I’m unsure of who didn’t expect this, but I did. This happens under every Republican president. This one decided to make it happen faster. In fact, his co-president promised hard times for most Americans while he uses his pseudo agency to dismantle American government and upend our economy.

Americans are struggling with the high cost of living. Trump's funding freeze does nothing to help. It  makes childcare, housing, home-heating, & food more expensive by locking people out of programs that cut costs.

You’re right. But under our extractive, exploitative capitalist system, that’s intentional on the part of its truest beneficiaries. Undereducated citizens or those overburdened with debt may feel forced to take whatever work is available at great cost to them but that benefits the capitalist.

My dad’s tuition at MassArt in 1966 was $200 a YEAR. My tuition at Wellesley was $16,000/yr. in 1992 and I got a full ride (because of my exceptional academic, extracurricular, and community work record). Now, it’s at least $100k/yr. for elite schools and parents are getting loans for children. 😡
