Here’s the Bluesky employee in question, she spent her day wringing hands and clutching pearls over people being “racist” towards AI. This despite the fact her employers are playing fast and loose with their own TOS because they want to accommodate transphobes and Nazis.

...I need you to understand that the problem with racial slurs is not how they are categorical pejoratives, it's not how they are grammatically leveraged, and it's not how they are reductive. It's that racial slurs malign *inherent qualities* of *people*.

People... are allowed to come up with mean names for inanimate objects. If you compare this practice to racial slurs, I'm going to think you believe people of other races hold the same concrete significance and value as inanimate objects. This is one of those slips that does not look good on anyone.

Today is my birthday. I feel sad today. I hugged my kids on my heavy, aching chest to celebrate with me. They have nothing, no food, no clothes. Their bodies are getting thinner. Who will contribute $400 for food, clothing, and vitamins?

Actually, this discourse has given me new tools with which to torment my colleagues who are specialists in philosophy of language.

"Can you slur an AI," is bound to make many of them lose their shit at both the premise and the philosophical implications of trying to answer the question.
