I see a lot of people saying “just lie!” And I also see this wrt veterans attempting to get disability through the VA. But it’s not a lie! Expressing how you feel on your worst day, and how you’re experiencing something that affects you every day in varying stages of tolerability isn’t a lie!

Mr Male Doctor isn’t sexist for asking the question, and isn’t negligent if you answer “no” because you’re a brave little soldier who takes their ibuprofen and doesn’t complain, and he takes you at your word. You have to complain.
We’re here assuming that your pain is considerable but not intractable. The answer to the question “is it impacting your daily living” is yes, it makes every aspect of my working life or the care for my children more difficult and leisure impossible
But when a male doctor asks you “is your pain impacting your daily living?” and you say “no, because I have to do the tasks no matter how I feel,” you answered the question wrong
