There are probably 20 FLW homes within walking distance of the Home/Studio. The Walter Gale home @ 1031 Chicago Ave does not look like one but it was the first home he designed after he got fired for Louis Sullivan who caught him doing commissions under the table while working for his firm.

You need to go to my hometown, Oak Park, for some very beautiful homes, about 40 by FLW. I once spent two days doing jury duty at my favorite example of his work, the Marin County Civic Center, which I also call the Space Ship.
