My last post notwithstanding, the person I'm most excited to have met today was @madelinedyer.bsky.social, who was so interesting to talk to about writing and her books that I bought one series on the spot.

Finding someone who deliberately writes LGBTQIA+ fiction is always joyful.

So, today at Comic-Con in sunny Plymouth I had the joy of meeting Danny John Jules and continuing my ever expanding collection of Red Dwarf autographs. He was charming, funny and late, so I feel some connection there on one ground at least.

Mini of the month competition October - Terrain-ing day

Your mission this month involves no minis at all. Instead you are to create a terrain piece from scratch. Old school style. So cardboard, foam, plastic bottles etc.

Statue adventures continue!

Today I’ve been working on creating an aged lichen effect on one statue whilst trying to push how clean the new statue looks.

I think it’s working.

Agreed, I’m looking forward to aging one of the statues up.

In a continuation of last week’s experiments with metallic statues, which delighted me.

They are painted in aged brass with a lot of verdigris. They stand on a black pillar with edge highlighting.

And with that, I think I’m just about ready to call my first two statues from @roll1toexplode.bsky.social done.

I’m really glad I took the chance for some experimenting and I’m proud of the effects that I got on the aged statue.

Both were a joy to paint and I love the sculpts 10/10

Two fantasy sci fi statues. One is a woman in robes holding an orb painted in bright metallic brass, the other is a cowled man with a mechanical face that is in the early stages of verdigris. Both stand on black plinths.

Ok, I know it’s been longer than originally planned and I achieved no streams this week, sorry. However work is continuing very slowly on the first two statues from @roll1toexplode.bsky.social store.

One in bright brass and the other in what is going to be verdigris’d brass.

On reflection. It’s nice seeing how grossly outnumbered the flag wavers are in the UK.

It’s an interesting question, why they are using a platform which is being used to undermine them.

Probably my favourite gundam design.

I’m planning on keeping them separate from their plinths so I can choose how to display them.

The plinths are crisp though.
