Book news!!! Being Ace is getting a sequel!! And I get to work with the awesome @rosieethor.bsky.social on this one!!!

In the last couple of days, seven blurb quotes/endorsements for my disabled horror anthology have landed in my inbox, and I couldn’t be prouder of this book! My publisher will be making cute little graphics for the quotes and I will share here when allowed!

I spent so much on my table pitch for Comic Con, not to mention Public Liability insurance, business cards, and stock of my indie published books. I’m self-employed due to chronic illness, and now I’m just going to have to write off this loss which I also can’t really afford to do.

I had a night in hospital, and I’ve pretty much been bedbound at home since.

What really sucks is that I had my first Comic Con appearance booked for this weekend, and now I’m too unwell to go and sell my books.

Last week, I was hospitalised due to influenza. It was so scary as I couldn’t even keep water down and after 30 hours of that I was so dehydrated. My husband took me to the local hospital and we were sent to another one straight away, where I was treated promptly due to sepsis risk.

I had pneumonia at the beginning of the year, a bad cold last week, and for the last two days I’ve been sick with fever, chills, aches, and a wicked sore throat. All this on top of my chronic illnesses and disability. Why I can’t I catch a break?! I just want to write and promote my books & I can’t

Why is the hardest part of writing sitting down and turning the laptop on?

Like once I do this I am fine.

But getting to this point? It can take me days.
