Tribute as in "Tribute band"?

Chrysler's over the top Forward Look and GM's response never worked for me. Ford's more reserved interpretation is far more handsome. Better yet, give me the Rambler V8 with a manual.

Mustang Alley is basically a car show for Mustang owners. The cars are driven there by their owners.

Recent trip to the dentist for a routine cleaning the tech used a hand-held battery operated instrument for the final polishing.

I've driven a base 6-cyl. '66 Mustang. Believe me, the Mustang II was a far better car. And I'm sure it's true, were it not for the Mustang II Ford wouldn't have kept it around much longer, likewise the Camaro and Challenger.

Mustang Alley at the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise has a special section for Mustang IIs. Always some lovely examples there.

One of several tall — and very useful — subcompact wagons back then, along with the Honda Civic wagon, Dodge Colt Vista wagon, and I would even toss in the Mazda 5 minivan. As useful as today's compact SUVs but too small to appeal to buyers.

The Fiesta ST I had would have kicked its ass and my NC Miata would give it a run for its money.

Seville? No. While it was based on a heavily modified Nova platform, it was closer to a Malibu in most specs than to a Nova.

My parents owned a '78 Fairmont 4-cylinder manual. It was a base 2-door sedan with power steering and — oddly — a vinyl top as its only options. It was very roomy and had a large trunk but was achingly slow and boring to drive.

And multiple shades of colors.

The refresh in 1973 gave it a chunkier look that, along with those 1974 bumpers, made for a much heavier look overall. The '72 was much better looking.

Learned to drive on a manual at age 15 and of the 31 cars I've owned, 14 have been manuals, including a '69 VW KG with Autostik, a seriously bad transmission. 50/50 mix currently in my garage.

Something about those cars just never looked right. Proportions seemed awkward.

Especially dressed up as a Towne Coupe.

A more cynical person might assume debasing the Chrysler products was exactly the point of the exercise.

"Maker’s don’t want to share customer data with Apple . . ." So GM (and others) will charge customers for the privilege of allowing GM to use that data and share it with whomever it pleases and possibly even make $$ doing it? Got it.

Twelve year old me thought these were the coolest rides on the road when they were new. I still do.

This first generation of the Panther platform Town Cars was by far best looking, IMO. It embodied the early 1960s design themes far better than subsequent generations. Wish I had room for one.

Less a price increase and more about rebalancing trim levels and equipment content. Doubtful it will make much difference, though.

Great deals on lightly used Ariyas right now, though.

Hard to say when the last time I saw one. They were so anonymous looking I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Got me a little nostalgic for the Ruby gen2 iMac I once owned. What a wonderful machine.
