Black Calligraphy on white rice paper which reads “Breathe and smile” the words are in written in the centre of a circle. This circle is called an Ensō which is the visual expression of enlightenment and emptiness. Thay would have begun at the bottom middle and drawn clockwise, breathing in and then breathing out at the top of the circle to continue round. In the bottom right corner is a red stamp/seal this is his lineage name and Dharma title, which translates to "Nhat Hanh, the Light of the Middle". Thays calligraphies act as a “bell of mindfulness” reminding us to arrive in the here and now, and touch the wonders of life. To breathe and smile.

Woven willow circle placed by a moss covered tree trunk. Created during a circle of trees environmental art group at Highgate’s woods. The ground is wet with rain and fallen leaves, we found the flow of water and gathered ourselves, from the mountain streams to the rivers and bogs to the lakes and shore of the sea. The might oceans, mist, clouds, rain and circling round to streams. The willow has holly, berries, bark and a snow drop
