I’m sad to hear the news that the wonderful Jane Goodall is no longer in the world. Her work with chimpanzees at Gombe in Tanzania taught us to look at other apes - and ourselves - differently. I was privileged to meet her later in life and tell her what an inspiration she was to me.

Having not been since for about a month, one of this years juveniles 5R4 has been seen in Middlebere this AM 🤯🤯🤯

Adult Osprey flying around Wareham Channel at around 8.45am, seen from Ham Common VP. It flew low and dipped its feet in the water a couple of times, then on the third shallow dive it grabbed a small fish and flew with it towards the Holton shoreline. @harbourbirds.bsky.social @ukoi.bsky.social

Three Ospreys & one distant White-tailed Eagle seen from the @harbourbirds.bsky.social pop-up watch at Ham Common this am in between squalls. First Osprey flew in at low tide & landed on low post near gull islands before tide came in, when it went to higher post. @ukoi.bsky.social

We had some great reports of sightings of both 1H1 (adult female) and 5R8 (chick) from ‘Nest 2’ being seen and photographed in Christchurch Harbour last week! Great to see they have started their migration.
