If I may steal from Kurt Busiek, I’d call the period from 1986 to 2001-ish the Dark Age. It works for the tone of the comics (grim and gritty) and the state of the industry (near extinction after the spectacular bubble bust).

For the record, I checked my emails with the band and I did not use the word “visualize.”

The ones done on CD-Rs unfortunately tend to degrade and become unable to be played or even ripped to digital. The ones that were professionally made are fine though!
