For what itβs worth, this post got me to buy A Gathering of Ravens. Best of luck finding the right pace! ππ
25.03.2025 17:18 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That would be 7 books deep and I joined his Patreon to read his early draft of Book 8. It is a real skill to write this level of funny, irreverent and gory action, mixed with real human emotion and companionshipβ¦ all with a secondary protagonist who is a talking cat named Princess Donut.
20.03.2025 20:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For all you πππͺ folks out there who havenβt explored indie darling @mattdinniman.bsky.socialβs series Dungeon Crawler Carl seriesβ¦ whoo boy. Itβs not for everybody, but if itβs for you itβll really be for you. Iβm 6 books deep all of a sudden.
01.03.2025 16:12 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Welp, this definitely took me down a rabbit hole! Iβm on book 6!

20.02.2025 14:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well #booksky, Blood Over Bright Haven was even better than The Sword of Kaigen. M.L. Wang is growing as an author. It was more polished, had better pacing. No unnecessary backdoor pilots. Just a great stand alone book. Now I think I need something lighter and fun. Any recommendations? πππͺ
05.02.2025 13:01 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Hey #bookfriends. Sword of Kaigen is an epic read πππͺ but itβs a book that took two attempts before it clicked for me. Some uneven pacing at the start but first rate action once it kicks off. Itβs also a book I would have passed on if Iβd known its plot. Iβm glad I didnβt.
29.01.2025 23:28 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt think I was fully prepared for this book.
28.01.2025 22:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs finally time to read a legacy booktok recommendation, The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang. I want to finish it before I start Blood Over Bright Haven, which was totally a #booksky reco. ππ

Well, Iβve achieved all of my #booksky goals.
25.01.2025 18:41 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#booksky is crushing it! 2/2 on great books Iβve found this year and already a host of other suggestions. @wiswell.bsky.socialβs Someone You Can Build a Nest In is something special. A wonderful monster love story from the monsterβs POV. ππ
25.01.2025 04:05 β π 23 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Who is a character in a book whose name you mispronounced in your head? I read Shea Ohmsford from @terrybrooks.bsky.socialβs Sword of Shannara as βShe-ahβ for years. Until I heard my cousin say it out loud as βShayβ like Shea Stadium. ππ
24.01.2025 14:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1It is almost as if everyone is devastatingly handsome.

23.01.2025 14:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay, I just finished reading my first book discovered on #booksky. Now I need my next one. Any recommendations for indie or alt pub authors? I read a wide selection of genre fiction, but am in the mood for smart fantasy writing. Hit me up! ππ»π

22.01.2025 18:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve been listening to it on my walks today. It is crushingly cold outside, but it helps to have a nice voice and story in my ear. Congratulations on the nomination. Well deserved!
22.01.2025 17:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I do not understand the audio book / physical book divide at all. At the end of the day, Iβm just pro book. Read, listen, enjoy, learn. Whatever works for you!
22.01.2025 17:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm going to try and read as many indie authors as I can this year. Hoping to get most of my fiction reads from this community.
21.01.2025 18:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reading helps lower my anxiety in a way watching TV doesnβt. Iβm not sayinβ, Iβm just sayinββ¦ #books #booksky
21.01.2025 18:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm starting my first book I came across on #booksky. βSomeone You Can Build a Nest Inβ by @wiswell.bsky.social. Really loving this community!
21.01.2025 01:26 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve been thinking about the books that got me into reading and they were all fantasy. The Hobbit might have been an inflection point for me. I went from a struggling non-reader to an unstoppable devourer of books. What books changed your life? #booksky #books
20.01.2025 21:38 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Just saw this and decided to pick up your first book. Looks great!
20.01.2025 14:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If she likes dragons and you secretly want her to learn about the Napoleonic Wars, consider Temeraire by Naomi Novik. It is more general audience alternative history than YA, but itβs in that reading level. Lots of derring-doβ¦ with dragons. www.goodreads.com/book/show/58...
20.01.2025 14:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish I had known about Grim Oak before. Looks like the Sword and Elfstones of Shannara limited editions are sold out. Those books opened my eyes to a whole new world of fantasy as a kid. Thank you!
19.01.2025 23:29 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Who are the best fantasy and sci-fi authors on #booksky? Who should I be following?
