The post shows a timestamp of 4:31 PM on Jan 24, 2026, and 599.4K views.

This is especially important given the number of deaths already in ICE custody since Feb 2025, and the number of those that the authorities had claimed were from suicides.

Some people would also shout out "I will not [commit] suicide" so that if they later were found dead in suspicious circumstances, it would be known that they had been killed rather than killed themselves.

And/so, yes, please exercise care when protesting/resisting/standing up for your community.

During the Hong Kong protests, people were afraid of getting disappeared (or at least wanted it to be known that they were arrested), so they would shout their names and HKID numbers to the crowd upon arrest for recordings and social workers in the crowd to pick up.
