Here is a walnut staked bench I made a couple of years ago. I wanted to make a Roman style workbench and this slab was the only thing I had on hand. But after I started milling it I knew it was going in the house. #woodworking #furniture #walnut

I completed the Shaker style blanket chest. It was such a fun project. I’m not sure I would use the same hard wax oil finish on a similar piece simply because of the size of the piece. But I think it turned out well enough.

It looks great but I get it. Maybe you were thinking "if I don't use maple then I'll never know that I should not have used maple". What a great opportunity to build it again and try a different wood.

I just completed this bench. My second one in my goal to make 4 by the end of February 2025. The materials used in this one are super local. White oak from a friend and walnut from my yard.
