A miniature bowl made from an avocado pit. The sides are squished to make a square shape at the top. A pencil is laying beside it for scale. The bowl is barely taller than the pencil.

A gag gift for my local turning club's year end swap. I included some mini M&Ms with the bowl. I used some scrap wood and rubber bands to form it into a square as it dried.

Working with tagua nuts can be a pain since they have random cracks in the middle. I had to make the foot twice since the first one got too small once I got rid of the cracks.

Most of these I used boiled linseed oil, one has CA glue as the finish. I can't say how water resistant it is though. I've only done a small amount of these over the past 6 months or so.

The show started on Showtime and then got picked up by SyFy or something. I was wondering why there was a TV-MA rating in the opening credits.

Reminds me of when I first rewatched Stargate on Netflix after watching reruns for years on SyFy. Didn't expect nudity in the first episode.

Depends on what platform I see it on first but I try to like it on both. I think you might need to throw some hashtags into the posts

I use cheap home made tools to hollow. A bunch of old hex wrenches that I know don't go to anything important. For this one I used the smallest one, about 1/8" wide. Cut with a hacksaw or angle grinder and sharpened like a scraper. Stuck in a quick and dirty handle.

You start with the wood turned around and hollow through a bigger hole in what will eventually be the bottom. Then it gets plugged and you can flip it around and do the top. For the top, I just drilled with a 1/4" bit.
