It was the same for my movie buddy. We've known so long that this is a problem in media. And I don't think it should be off the table but there are better ways to handle it... or just don't do it.

I wish Caught Stealing had found a better tone balance, but I do think it has a story worth experiencing with lots of twists. Just know it's not the story the ads show. It is NOT a fun romp.

There's a lot of tonal whiplash. There are many times where this movie wants to be the fun crime romp the ads promised. Then it remembers it's a Darren Aronofsky film and oops! No more fun.

CAUGHT STEALING is a very good, very cool movie that has been mismarketed to look like a fun, zany comedy.

No spoilers but, speaking as a self declared defender of The Woke Agenda, it violates The Woke Agenda in a key way that many people will not accept and others may see as lazy.

But I wish nothing but kindness on their cute pet pigs. The pigs deserve better.
