I was all in on the HDTV hype when the 360 came out, and ended up getting a bargain on a low latency 720p display model. It worked great with the shiny new Xbox but it made my retro consoles look worse than they did on the CRT I’d foolishly dumped. I only realised why years later.

I was a SEGA obsessed 13 year old in ‘98. I got my Saturn two years earlier with NiGHTS which I loved, so buying Burning Rangers was inevitable for me. I was on a first name basis with my local game shop due to calling and asking after it so often. I got it day one for £50 and still have it now.

This was one of two games I ever owned for the Master System. I don’t think I ever made it past the 3rd level, but I was 6 at the time 🤣

I’ve been a fan for years while I’m selfishly sad to hear your not going to be on Blood God as often, I’m simultaneously happy you’re taking a bold step, and that the pod will be in the safest hands.

Metal Virus Sonic has only just become available at Smyths in the UK, so it could be literally years before Tangle shows up!

I’d be happy never buying another Microsoft console again. I was looking for a ‘gaming pc’ in the next few years but I’ve no appetite for one now. It’s not a perfect solution, and I’m sure I’ll miss some stuff, but I’m happy with my niches and playing what I like, rather than chasing blockbusters.

The recent Microsoft layoffs, the sheer number of game layoffs in general, the state of games media, AI and global economics all paint a pretty catastrophic picture of the games industry right now and some sort of crash is imminent.

I used to think I had to keep up with the zeitgeist when it came to games. I got the ‘biggest games’ of the time during the 360 era to be part of the discourse and it mostly left me miserable. As I’ve gotten older I’ve retreated into my niches, and have really never been happier with my choices.

Been playing Deltarune and spoke to Seam in Chapter 4. He seemed disappointed I wasn't able to beat the Chapter 3 secret boss.

It was getting me down but I’ve been stuck on this thing for 3-4 hours. I only bloody beat it 1st try today!

It feels great, but now I’ve 2h of Chapter 4 to replay!

I really, really liked Queen in Deltarune in chapter 2, but I’m floored by the new character introduced in chapter 3. I’ve never been so ‘in’ on the in jokes. No spoilers but just peak 90’s chaos.

I’ve a very excited daughter counting down the minutes until the next chapters of Deltarune are out. I’ve another slightly younger daughter counting down the hours until the Switch 2 arrives.

It’s times like this I can take a step back and think ‘I’ve done ok!’ with them both.

My Virgin Media broadband would drop constantly for no reason. Reported it several times and got told there was ‘no issue’. Dropped them eventually and went with Sky and it’s been great ever since. Only now I can’t blame my Overwatch rank on my connection sucking 😓

Was surprised to see the Konami logo on this but pleasantly so. The destructibility of the environments made me sit up and take notice so hopefully the game plays as good as it looks!
