New sustainable finance targets are going backwards: nearly half of the 11 banks that have set new targets since May 2024 have actually lowered their ambition.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) remains a major blind spot: despite risks around fossil fuel infrastructure becoming a bad investment as the world shifts to cleaner energy an impending oversupply of natural gas, only four banks rule out finance for these projects.
