An almost uncropped image of a juvenile Iceland Gull on Roundhay Park Lake. The feeding area had the usual Mute Swans and Canada Geese, but bizarre to see 4 close in Goosanders and this white winged beauty coming close in.

Great Northern Diver in flight over Covenham Reservoir. The Black-throated always stayed distant hut we got good scope views.

Great Grey Shrike that was singing all the time we watched it. Presumably winter song defending a feeding territory, this bird kept on coming closer and closer on a couple of occasions until flushed by dogs off lead and low flying Greylags respectively.

Studies in pale colours in the grey of Lincolnshire and Leeds today. We did see Red-crested Pochard and some Parakeets, but they were far too colourful for this post... #ukbirding #birds #BirdsSeenIn2026

A wet week on the Maldon patch, - Barnacle Goose (4th), Black Brant (7th - bird seen here previously)and a male Blackcap in the garden the highlights. Also plenty of Kingfisher activity in the rain.

Crossbills at the top of a conifer in some classic Welsh weather

Very pleased to see and hear 2 Willow Tits around the feeding area at Llyn Llech Owain this afternoon, albeit briefly. Over at the conifers a flock of approx 10 Crossbill were fairly mobile but showed well with some stunning red males amongst them. #birdingWales #UKWildlife #birdsSeenIn2026
