Hollander POTD Jack Haley. UCLA F was 79th pick in 87. Didn't make NBA til 88. Played rah rah bench guy for CHI, NJ+ LA thru 98. Per bio "has appeared in music videos & commercials...has even ocassionally appeare in NBA games." Did TV work after. Sadly died of heart issue. RIP.

Hollinger POTD Jiri Welsch. Czech SG/SF was drafted 16th in 2002. Started w/GS but peaked w/BOS in 2002-03 at 9 ppg as a versatile player. Flamed out in NBA by 2006 but was good in Europe thru 2018.

Hollander POTD Sly Williams. New Haven star went to URI. Drafted 21st by NY in 79. Was solid scorer but had attendance issues. Went to ATL in 83, had 2 injury filled yrs. BOS signed him in 85 but went AWOL ending career. Had issues post-career but things seem better now.

Hollinger POTD Todd MacCulloch. Canadian C for Washington was drafted 47th in 99 & stuck w/PHI. Slow but had soft hands & good touch. Earned big contract w/NJ in 01 & was key to turnaround (9.7 ppg 6.1 rpg). Traded back to PHI in 02 but nerve damage to feet ended career in 03.

Bonus Hollander POTD Fennis Dembo. Star at Wyoming (was on SI cover), made run to sweet 16 in 87 (lost to UNLV). Late pick by DET+he sat the pine for DET's 1st title team. Cut after 1 yr, ending NBA career. Spent 6 yrs in CBA/Europe before retiring.

Hollander POTD Mark Eaton. Was a tall mechanic then UCLA bench guy. Drafted 72nd by UTA in 82. Couldn't score but great at D, led NBA in blocks 4x, including 5.6 bpg (!) in 84-85. 2x DPOY too. Started at center for most of the 80s. Retired in 93 & did a lot public speaking. RIP.
