Note to self: *as soon as* you feel the migraine coming on - Take the meds. Drink a water bottle. Get calories. Turn off the lights or get your sunglasses.
For the love of whichever gods might be helpful do. not. wait. It's always a mistake ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Maybe this will only work for a little while (yay #adhd) but I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can

TBH I really, really want to finish this changeling story at least once. So yes this is possibly the most ridiculous strategy I could think of but hey it's working! Go me! ๐Ÿ˜† (4/4)

For some reason having an actual number, having it be something my brain accepts as non-arbitrary, and adding the daily count to the spreadsheet calendar to make the day's color change is working a lot better than literally anything else I've tried for the last couple years (3/x)

I got distracted before I remembered to add the important bit. My word goal for the day isn't "literally anything" bc that's not tangible enough to defeat my #executivedysfunction

The daily goal is "words at least equal to the numerical day of the month" (2/x)

A calendar page for the month of January notating a writing word count reached for the first 7 days. January 1, 80 words
January 2, 73 words
January 3, 18 words
January 4, 359 words
January 5, 191 words
January 6, 75 words
January 7, 55 words

Total word count noted at the bottom of the calendar: 851 words

Apparently putting the bar on the floor is the trick to building my writing momentum ๐Ÿ˜‚ #WIP is going strong!

I got really into the Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series! Did a combo of ebooks and audiobooks, absolutely loved the Graphic Audio Productions readings ๐Ÿฅฐ

Bar graph illustrating a year's reading spread. Yearly 100 book goal set, 103 books were read. The highest number of books per month was 15 books in September.

Back in November 2023 a switch flipped in my brain and I started reading like I was in highschool again ๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ So 2024's goal was 100 books with 50% being new reads

Results: 103 books and 72% is the best my creative brain has felt in a while โœจ

This year...I think it's time to start writing daily again

Itโ€™s so fun to have a true, genuine folk hero emerge in 2024. A mysterious stranger whose action represents the frustrations, hopes, and dreams of the people. I hope we never learn anything more about him.

cartoon about how the concept of pooling resources to ensure against catastrophe was taking over to ensure profit for insurance companies

oh hey since we're talking about for-profit insurance companies for some reason, here's a cartoon from the year of our lord 2001
