These findings suggest that PRDM8 methylation may be linked to BPD and its treatment response, highlighting the need for further research on its functional significance and gene-environment interactions in psychiatric disorders.

➑️ BPD patients showed PRDM8 hypomethylation compared to healthy controls.
➑️ After Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, methylation levels increased in line with reduced symptom severity.
➑️ No associations were found with adverse childhood experiences.

New publication alert! 🚨🧬
Our study examined DNA methylation of PRDM8, a histone methyltransferase, in relation to Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). We found significant associations with BPD status and symptom severity. Find details at: www.mdpi.com/2076-3425/15...

We found lower GDAP1 DNA methlyation and lower H3K4me3 level in patients with alcohol use disorder. H3K4me3 levels normalized after abstinence-based therapy, whereas DNA methylation levels remained unchanged. We could not find any differences in GDAP1 expression. #alcoholusedisorder #epigenetics

GDAP1 Is Dysregulated at DNA Methylation and H3K4me3 Levels in Alcohol Use Disorder Alcohol use disorder (AUD) contributes significantly to the global burden of disease. The susceptibility for AUD is mediated through an interaction of genetic risk factors and environmental influences...

New study from our lab!🚨: We investigated the epigenetic dysregulation of GDAP1 gene in alcohol use disorder, analyzing DNA methylation and H3K4me3 histone modification before and after treatment. Read more here: www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/26...

Genome-wide association study of borderline personality disorder identifies six loci and highlights shared risk with mental and somatic disorders Environmental and genetic risk factors contribute to the development of borderline personality disorder (BPD). We conducted the largest GWAS of BPD to date, meta-analyzing data from 12,339 cases and 1...

Happy to see this finally online: we investigated the genetic association signal of Borderline Personality Disorder in a GWAS meta-analysis with >12,000 cases. We identified 6 risk loci, and investigated shared genetic risk using genetic correlations and PheWAS
