god this is so much FUN. the art & lovely flexibility of great ttRPG writing make the whole thing SO evocative & easy to dip into. Genuinely brings the past to life in a way I’ve not seen before and gives a sense of how it might FEEL to live in a different time. An insane achievement

Masking helps stop disabled people like me dying, being excluded from society, and avoids passing on this kind of preventable illness. But if that’s not worth the tradeoff for you, consider protecting yourself. Just think about if you really need your face uncovered while sat silently on a train

It’s hard to describe the scale of loss and isolation of going from busy and active and healthy to being unable to live independently or do most things.

It's exhausting trying to talk about this, but covid is still around, and the most common cause of post-viral illness like mine--

My severe health problems (which mean I’m currently, as usual, in pain and bedbound) come from common viral illnesses I never recovered from. I was fine before that. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but my worst enemies. Nothing's magically protecting you from becoming disabled. It can happen to anyone.

I get why a lot of non-disabled people want to pretend respiratory illnesses don’t exist, but as we’re coming up on another event I can’t safely attend, I encourage you to just THINK about wearing a mask at events - or at least on the train/ plane there, where there’s probably no reason not to

This was such a cool project and I'm really proud to have art in this incredible book with so much amazing art and writing! Was amazed when Brian told me that my pictish byrehouse illustration would be one of less than five detailed depictions in existence!

oooh even the preview is so interesting - I love the concept of instead of using history to ground fantasy, using "the conventions of a fantasy setting to capture the magic of real people from a forgotten time"

Im gonna be real sappy about this bear with me.
When Quindrie press launched it shook my world. I loved Inhibit Eve’s webcomic for a while and getting to follow a project by them that had such a scale was exciting. The fact is Quindrie changed the way cartoonists in Scotland thought about comics. 🧵

Can’t tell you how much I’ve loved editing for Quindrie.

Truly gutting it's so hard out there that an indie enterprise so successful, with such fantastic work and community support can’t continue. But very honoured to have been involved with them & massively 2nd-hand proud of what they’ve achieved-

Thought Bubble is next weekend! Really excited, but please please wear a mask - i see fewer & fewer each year, and COVID is just as serious as it was 5 years ago. TB is an amazing event, but it’s not worth getting disabled or immunocompromised.

You’re so right about both. and also. the extended editions vs regular are a storytelling lesson to me. Longer arcs of hope broken by extra scenes of silly or bad thing happening, long arcs of tension broken by skulls etc
