Please share this thread. It is important that political scientists, in Europe and across the world, understand why EPSS exists and why we are encouraging people to attend our inaugural conference, in Belfast next June.

Yes, I came across your super article only recently. Our article (SSNR # 5072375 or my website) uses these GSS data on majors to produce a continuous variable tapping human-centeredness of someone's education to explain a range of political attitudes. Results consistent with yours!

Super graph! Level of education is a strong predictor for Gal/ Tan voting. In other work we show that this does not exhaust the effect of the education cleavage. What people study (field of study) matters too. See my website for more hooghe.web.unc.edu

We find that (1) education structures voting for GAL and TAN parties in Western Europe; (2) social structuration is as high as for classic social democratic parties in the 1950s; (3) education structures also Republicans and Democrats. Last evening of two amazing weeks in Amsterdam. visited many favorite haunts, met old friends and made new ones at Theresa Kuhn's workshop on Identity, said hello to Vermeer and Van Gogh, got an R&R done in Cafe Boca, and enjoyed the festive lights along the canals. Amsterdam, we'll be back!
