He has a speech bubble which in the movie would read ‘oh thank god’ but here says ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

Super good point. Forcing a "social" aspect into it also definitely seems to be a byproduct of that. Basing transferring tickets on whether you're "friends" with someone *in a ticketing app* just seems so bizarre. Sending tix to someone I didn't know took like submitting a Help / Support Ticket.
