We need to find a better policy. There are simpler easier fairer ways of achieving policy aim.

No. That was simple tax. This is horrendously complicated tax. Leading to delays and additional costs for personal representatives and beneficiaries.

So let’s put in place a proper robust roadmap so everyone knows where they stand, what’s going to happen and when, so they can plan with certainty.

Surprising news. But maybe not that much of a shock. The budget has placed so much pressure on employers. But what happens to the already passed law to reduce min AE age and pay conts on 1st pound of salary upwards?

I strongly believe as an industry we need to push back against IHT on pensions. There are much better ways to tax pensions in death that avoid delays to beneficiaries, additional costs, and allow people to plan with more certainty.

On an early train to London for a day talking about IHT and pensions. The policy that just gets worse the more you look into it.
