My theories on the next stages for the creator economy have never been more confident, but it really just took one conversation to remember that I'm not crazy, and frankly we can all be doing much better.
Our peers in other genres have leapt past us in innovation and have a mature understanding of the media landscape in addition to actually activating micro and nano influencers.
Those answers wouldn't have emerged at that show. The stagnation of creator marketing in games, the same campaigns, the same tactics, legacy analytics, and more than enough teams convinced that more views = more revenue. It's sad, but it's true and prevalent throughout AAA and indie.
While I'm still sad I didn't attend GDC this year, it only took one conversation with a trusted friend to realize I wasn't meant to be there. For months now, I have had this undeniable feeling about where the creator ecosystem is headed. I can't help but focus on everything we're not doing.
For millions of people, this is their only way to play games. I adore developers who make that a reality for so many. Esp when it's a banger like this.

Nearly 12 years in the games industry and no this doesn't surprise me anymore
Caught my attention. Snagging both
Haha so incredibly well said. I would be so happy with a squad exploring the world, getting lore, and finding surprises without pvp
Okay we gave marathon the old college try. I provided my 15 - 20 hours as promised between the slam and launch. I primarily play because I always want to understand even if I don't enjoy.
It's definitely not for me, and I wish there were other ways to play in that world but I do see the appeal.
We're a happy family, not a sharing kind lmao. There are 4 Xboxes here.
yeah. they had mass hordes and weather effects originally
With all the tools available in FN, this could be a spectacular mode if they just dug in
We have 3 copies in the house already lmao
This brings me crazy joy
And no it's not EA or respawn shut up
A game that I worked on nearly 6 years ago is finally being announced this year and that is fucking insane to me
I never thought it would capture me and now we have three copies at the house.. One for me and my wife, And now short one is getting into it.
yes...but swords
There is no other way
Insane that we don't have a game or even mechanics based on the Highlander Series
Don't you dare settle for "fine"
Well that was a very chat GPT answer
It would be nice if they were smart enough to integrate AR so we had a unique level of information or we had it enhanced experience that wasn't just 3D.
If anyone is willing to share, I would be very appreciative!! π§π
