People with chronic health conditions and who are #immunocompromised are the ones who are/will be hit hardest by the war on vaccines. Meanwhile people who acquire #disabilities from things like polio deserve rights and services... But an austere, eugenicist society surely won't guarantee them.
MAHA is a public health catastrophe, and a catastrophe for people with #disabilities.
The anti-vaccine movement is filled with eugenicist ideology and rhetoric. And the unnecessary increase in rates of disability will strain health and social service systems that people with disabilities rely on.
The cost of this war is not going to be felt hardest or most by the bank accounts of Westerners.

For the same $6 trillion cost, you could crush child poverty with a child allowance and free childcare, fix unemployment insurance, do paid family, sick & medical leave, massively boost ACA subsidies, and eliminate child uninsurance with Medicare for Kids.
I think a lot of us millennials & older really take it for granted that we were the last of only a couple generations where there was an all-encompassing campaign to encourage literacy. Everyone used to agree upon it. There were commercials with your favorite celebrities just being like, "READ!"

Unfunded inclusionary zoning mandates are de-facto taxes on new housing that worsen the housing shortage because they require homebuilders to rent or sell a percentage of their new homes at a loss.
Funded inclusionary zoning, on the other hand, is a great tool to economically integrate new housing.

(I was also told recently that the spinal fusion hardware looks like the Chinese character for "moon," which adds an extra wrinkle to the piece).

The piece features 7 surgeries & wounds I had from 2004-2014: a spinal fusion & subsequent surgical debridement, a baclofen pump placement & replacement, a partial sacrectomy & flap, a pressure ulcer, & a femural rod. Ultimately, it depicts the surgical side of life w/ a #disability.

I see lots of people here noting this is part of a part of a larger war on Minnesota... But what I haven't seen so far is that it's part of a larger war on #disabled people (which it is)
Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.
We obtained the Dilley detention center’s 911 call logs.
Among them are pleas for help for toddlers having trouble breathing, a pregnant woman who passed out and an elementary-school-aged girl having seizures.
It is difficult to overstate how quickly & thoroughly & shamefully we have normalized “the president can use federal funding as a cudgel to punish blue states & only blue states on his whim” in our polity & society. Yet another thing that would have ended any other presidency in the modern era.
