Happy 314 Day, St. Louis!
Today, we celebrate The Lou and everything that makes it amazing.
As we take today to honor her memory, we also reflect on the struggle for justice that is as of yet unfinished. I’m praying for her family, friends, and loved ones today.
#SayHerName
On this day in 2020, Breonna Taylor was killed by Louisville Metro Police Department officers after they forcibly entered her home. Although one of the officers responsible was eventually convicted of violating Taylor's civil rights, none were ever indicted for her murder.
Rest in power Breonna Taylor. Today, we mourn six years without her, and six years without justice or accountability.
That means quality healthcare, housing, and education for all of us. Together, we can build a better St. Louis, one where our basic needs are met, where our families can thrive, and where the promise that was made to us is kept, not broken.
I’m running for Congress to ensure that everyday people here in St. Louis can have the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that they were promised.
When I’m back in Congress, I’ll keep doing the work to ensure that housing is recognized as a fundamental human right and that tenants have strong protections to help keep them in their homes.
I personally know how expensive living in poverty can be, and I know what it’s like to be evicted, unhoused, and living in a car with my children.
Because I’ve been there before, I know what it takes to fight for the dignity and well-being of all people, regardless of their financial status.
I’ve been fighting for housing for all since before I was ever elected to Congress.
Housing must be protected as a fundamental human right. When people lose the roof over their heads, it’s so often followed by other devastating consequences, including job loss and worsening educational outcomes.
You know where I stand already.
No MAGA imperialism, no forever wars, no war with Iran.
This President’s agenda needs to be opposed at every possible opportunity.
Democrats must choose:
Do we want to give Trump a blank check to kill countless people in Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, and across the entire Middle East, or do we want to be a real opposition party?
Black communities in the St. Louis area currently face higher rates of poverty, unemployment, and environmental health conditions.
When I’m back in Congress, I’ll keep doing everything I can to deliver for St. Louisans, ensure that our communities can thrive, and stand up to this fascist President.
My dad taught me from an early age:
“Know yourself. And when you know yourself, nobody can take that from you.”
I’m running for Congress to represent St. Louis and be the fighter that our district’s most marginalized communities deserve.
We need leadership who will do everything in their power to advocate for us. We need someone to lead in the House, not just participate.
I’ve been that leader in Congress before, and after we win, I’ll be there again.
I’m running for Congress to represent St. Louis and to make sure that our families and children live in safe communities where they can thrive.
In 2014, after Michael Brown was killed, I knew that I had to become the fighter in DC that St. Louis deserves.
On Harriet Tubman Day, I’m reminded of her bravery, her strength, and her relentless pursuit of not just her own freedom, but of the emancipation of all enslaved people.
Her courage inspires all of us fighting for justice today to continue that fight until it’s won.

These attacks on abortion are not just about abortion. They are an attack on women, our families, and the freedom of all Missourians to live safe and healthy lives.
In Congress, I fought for reproductive care and freedom.
When I’m back, I’ll do it again.

Currently, Missouri is one of the worst states in the country for women's health. Here, we see higher rates of maternal mortality, infant mortality, and preterm births than the national average.
Like I told the @missouriindependent.com, lawmakers here in Missouri who attack reproductive care are not just restricting our freedom, but also worsening the health care crisis.
We take today to celebrate abolitionist, activist, and icon Harriet Tubman. Her legacy lives on as we continue to build a world where all people are free from injustice.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world.”
Happy Harriet Tubman Day, St. Louis!
This imperial violence must end now. No war with Iran.
Trump’s unlawful strikes have already killed thousands in Iran, including civilians and children. Both he and Netanyahu have been enabled to wreak havoc upon the Middle East with complete impunity, and the devastation taking place in Iran right now is the direct result of that impunity.
The President’s illegal war on Iran and his callous disregard for the lives and well-being of the Iranian people are disgusting and abhorrent.
Together, we honored the Ferguson Youth Initiative’s incredible founders and alumni and left feeling ready to keep inspiring the young people of Ferguson and beyond.
Congratulations on 15 years!
I had a great time with @FYIFergYouths last month celebrating 15 years of empowering youth and transforming communities.
I’m running to deliver for everyday people here, and I’m ready to fight for tornado relief, investing in public housing and public transit, and creating a Medicare for All healthcare system.
We have so much work to do, and I’m ready to go back to Congress to do it, just like I have before.
St. Louis came together to help those who were most affected, but the full recovery that needs to happen is far from complete. We need leadership that will fight for the federal funding that is necessary to rebuild after the disaster.
When a tornado came to St. Louis in May, I organized with my community to distribute essential supplies. Homes and businesses were devastated, five lives were lost, and many more were injured.
This is a movement that doesn’t move without you. Over the next five months, we’ll win the representation that St. Louis deserves in Congress, and we’ll do it together.
