Update: Shakespeare in Love wasn’t as good as I remembered☹️ Gwyneth Paltrow’s performance was a treat to watch tho

I’m sad to hear that as I’ve had the complete opposite experience🤣

I need to rewatch it because it’s been a few years (in the theatre club at my hs😅) but I’ll report back when I do!

Debating between watching Atonement or Shakespeare In Love today as a reward for organizing my closet. Two very different movies I know but I’m craving period pieces right now😅

And we absolutely need it😭🤣

I did like it, despite it running a little long . But I also might be biased because I love Shakespeare and go running toward any movie or stage production inspired by him like a puppy chasing a ball😆 still, I think Marty Supreme should have won best drama instead.

I love Chloé Zhao and Nomadland is one of my favourite movies, but the pacing of Hamnet was a little slow especially in the beginning. Jessie Buckley’s performance was flawless and the ending (despite the song) was really very moving.

Did anyone watch Hamnet and did you enjoy it? I’m honestly not surprised it won the Golden Globes for best drama since GG likes Oscar-baity movies more than the Oscars. And while “On The Nature of Daylight” is a lovely piece of music, I feel like it’s being overused by Hollywood.
