it sort of feels like there's a difference between my ability to imagine an idea versus the actual visualization when it's time to put pen to paper. anyone else get this?

like a lot of artists i know can simply think of something and start doodling with no references needed and... i can't do that? i don't know. it's impossible.

i'm always gonna feel bad about needing references to draw because i can't visualize anything in my head and put it to paper... which is supposedly super easy for every artist. like, years of training and i never learned to be able to free sketch.
